1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
3 eggs
1 c. sour milk
3 c. flour
1/2 c. cocoa
2 tsp. baking soda (level)
1/2 c. raisins, optional
Salt
1/2-1 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs, sour milk and vanilla. Mix dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees approximately 10 minutes. Remove from cookie sheet; allow to cool and frost with your favorite chocolate frosting if desired.
