TOMATO-CHEESE TART 
1 unbaked pie crust
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
3 med. ripe tomatoes
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. basil
1 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. chopped onion
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. bread crumbs

Bake pie crust for 15 minutes in preheated oven (425 degrees). Cool. Spread shredded Cheddar on pie crust. Slice tomatoes into lengthwise wedges (thin). Arrange slightly overlapping in circular pattern on cheese. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, basil and oregano.

Saute onion in butter. Spoon in center of pie. Sprinkle with bread crumbs. Bake in moderate oven (325 degrees) 20 minutes or until tomatoes are tender.
