CARAMEL DROP COOKIES 
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. shortening
3 eggs
1 c. sweet milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
Dash salt

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and beat well. Add remaining ingredients in order listed; mix well. Drop by spoonfuls on slightly greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees. Ice while warm.

ICING:

1/4 c. butter
2 tbsp. cold water
1 tsp. maple flavoring
1 egg, beaten
3/4 lb. powdered sugar

Brown butter; add water, flavoring, egg and enough powdered sugar to thicken. Mix well.
