1 c. quick oats
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. raisins
1 1/3 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg

Mix oats with boiling water; let stand. Cream sugars and shortening. Add eggs and beat well. Sift dry ingredients, add raisins. Add to creamed mixture along with the oats. Beat well. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until done.

TOPPING:

2/3 c. brown sugar
4 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 stick butter
1 c. coconut
3/4 c. chopped nuts (pecans)
