HOMEMADE BISCUITS 
2 c. self-rising flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
6 tbsp. shortening
1 c. buttermilk

Mix in large bowl. Sift flour and baking powder together; cut in shortening with flour. Add enough buttermilk gradually to make dough that can be handled. Pat out on floured paper or board. Cut or roll and place on cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes until brown.
