HAMBURGER HERINGSTOPFCHEN 
1/2 c. sour cream
1 1/2 tsp. vinegar
1 1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. horseradish
1 (5 oz.) jar pickled herring
1 med. sliced onion
1 dill pickle, diced
1 apple, peeled, cored and sliced
Lettuce leaves
Pimento strips

Combine sour cream, vinegar, sugar, and horseradish; blend well. Let stand 10 minutes. Combine herring, onion, apple, and pickles. Toss lightly. Add dressing; mix lightly. Chill. Serve on lettuce leaves. Garnish with pimento and pickle slices.
