DUTCH APPLE CAKE 
1/4 c. butter
3/4 c. sugar
1 egg
1 1/2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. milk
4 med. apples
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and beat well. Add the sifted dry ingredients alternately with the milk, beating until smooth after each addition. Spread into a 9 x 9 inch pan. Pare the apples and cut into thin slices. Arrange in rows on the dough. Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon on top. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.
