1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream together butter and sugar. Blend in egg. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to mixture. Then add vanilla. Divide dough into two parts. Chill for 1 hour. Roll dough, one part at a time, to 1/8 inch and cut with cookie cutter. Keep other dough chilled until ready to roll. Put cookies on cookie sheet and bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 8-10 minutes. Makes 2 dozen cookies.
