REFRIGERATED BRAN MUFFINS 
1 c. boiling water
1 c. 100% bran (Nabisco cereal)
1/2 c. shortening or butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. raisins
2 c. Grapenuts (not flakes)

Pour water over bran and let set. Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and beat. Add milk and flour (mixed with salt and soda). Add cereal, bran and raisins last. Bake at 400 degrees 12 to 14 minutes. After the dough has been refrigerated bake for 20 minutes. This batter will keep in the refrigerator for 6 weeks. Yield about 3 dozen.
