Boil together for 3 minutes:

1 c. dates
1 c. raisins
1 c. water

Cream together:

1/2 c. shortening
2 tbsp. Sweet N Low
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. lemon extract

Add 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 cup flour, 1 cup quick oatmeal. Bake in 9 x 13 inch pan or drop from teaspoon. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.
