LAYERED SALAD WITH GREEN ONIONS 
1 lg. red onion, sliced in rings
1 head lettuce, well drained
1 green pepper, sliced into rings
1 can sweet peas, drained
1 c. diced celery
1 lb. crisp, fried bacon, crumbled
1 c. mayonnaise
1 c. sour cream
2 tbsp. sugar
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated
1 c. chopped, roasted peanuts (optional)

Layer lettuce in bottom of large salad bowl. Cover with green peppers, onion rings, peas, celery, and bacon. Mix mayonnaise, sour cream, sugar, and spices together. Smooth mixture over top of layered salad. Sprinkle cheese over the mixture and top with peanuts. Refrigerate several hours before serving.
