LEMON SUGAR COOKIES 
1 egg
1/2 c. shortening (soft)
1/3 c. butter (soft)
1 pkg. lemon cake mix

Pour half of dry cake mix into bowl. Beat egg, shortenings and mix until smooth. Stir in rest of mix. It will be like pie dough. Roll out 1/4 dough at a time on lightly floured board, 1/8-1/4 inch. Cut into shapes. Sprinkle with plain or colored sugar. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375 degrees for 5-7 minutes. Watch! The brown quickly. Cool slightly before removing. These freeze well.
