APPLE PINEAPPLE TORTE 
1 can (22 oz.) apple pie filling
1 can (20 oz.) crushed pineapple, undrained
1 pkg. yellow cake mix (2 layer size)
3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter, melted
1 c. pecans or walnuts, chopped coarsely

Spread apple pie filling in bottom of greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Layer undrained pineapple on top. Sprinkle dry cake mix over fruit. Drizzle melted butter over all. Sprinkle nuts on top. Do not mix. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Serve plain or with ice cream or whipped cream. Yield: 12 to 15 servings.
