2 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. white Karo
1/2 c. water
2 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
Walnuts (optional)

Cook syrup, sugar and water until it will spin a thread. Pour half of syrup over beaten egg whites. Cook rest of syrup until hardens in cold water. Pour rest of syrup in egg whites and continue beating until creamy and loses its gloss. Drop on waxed paper. Add nuts, if desired.
