GAYLE'S ROAST CHICKEN 
1 (3 or 4 lb.) whole chicken
4 or 5 pats butter
Garlic and onion salt

Wash chicken and place in small roaster. Rub garlic and onion salt inside and out. Place pats of butter on top and bake at 350 degrees about 1 hour.

Place giblets in cold water to cover, sprinkle a little garlic and onion salt in water. Cover and cook for an hour or so. Remove giblets and pour liquid into roaster when chicken is done. Add thickening for great gravy.
