WALNUT CAKE 
3/4 c. Crisco shortening
1 tsp. salt
3 unbeaten eggs
3 3/4 tsp. baking powder
3 c. cake flour (can use reg. flour)
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 1/3 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped walnuts

Combine and beat until fluffy, shortening, sugar, salt and vanilla (approximately 3 minutes). Add eggs one at a time and beat 2 minutes. Add sifted flour with baking powder - add milk alternating until blended, add chopped nuts.

Bake in 2 greased and floured 9 inch cake pans at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Note: This cake is delicious without nuts too! Frost with favorite vanilla frosting.
