ITALIAN HOLIDAY COOKIES
2 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 eggs
1 tsp. anisette (or other flavoring)
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted

ICING:

1/4 cup milk
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar

Note: Vanilla, lemon or orange extract work just as well. You can use an electric mixer for the icing.

Preheat over to 350°F.

Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, eggs and (your choice) flavoring. Then mix with either an electric mixer or a rubber spatula. Pour in the melted butter and mix once again. The mixture should be crumbly if you are using an electric mixer.

Roll into walnut sized balls and place them about a centimeter away from each other on a greased cookie sheet. You can also use an ungreased pizza stone too. Let them bake at 350°F for about 12 to 15 minutes.

While they are in the oven, take out a small bowl, and combine milk and confectioners sugar. This should make a half thick / half runny paste.

When the cookies are out of the oven, dip the heads of the cookies (while still warm) into the icing and let cool. Enjoy :)
