EASY AND ELEGANT LEMON TORTE (OR
CHOCOLATE TORTE)
 
Prepare 10x14-inch glass dish.

FIRST LAYER:

1 c. (2 sticks) butter
1 c. finely chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans)
1 c. flour

Mix above and press over bottom of dish. Bake at 350°F got 20 minutes. Cool.

SECOND LAYER:

1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
1 lg. container of Cool Whip

Mix these together and spread on above layer.

THIRD LAYER:

3 c. milk
3 sm. boxes instant lemon pudding mix
3 or more tsp. lemon juice

Mix together and place on cream cheese layer.

FOURTH LAYER:

1 lg. container Cool Whip
1/4 to 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Spread Cool Whip on top and sprinkle with chopped nuts.

Chocolate Torte Variation: For pudding (third) layer, instead of lemon use 1 lg. box vanilla instant pudding with 1 lg. box chocolate instant pudding and proceed as for lemon torte.
