SMOKEHOUSE APPLE TART 
4 Smokehouse apples, pared and halved
3/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. flour
Cinnamon
Butter 1/3 c. water

Line 8 inch pie dish with pastry. Sift all but 7 tablespoons of the sugar with flour. Put sugar and sifted flour in pie first. Then arrange 7 halves of apples in pie shell, cut side up. Put butter in centers, then 1 tablespoon sugar on each half. Add a little cinnamon. Pour 1/3 cup water between apples. Bake at 425 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.
