SWEDISH MEATBALLS | |
1 lb. ground beef 1/2 lb. ground sausage 1 egg 2 slices bread, crumbled 1/2 c. milk 1 tbsp. flour (heaping) 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 grated onion Form meatballs into small balls and brown in oil. Set aside. GRAVY (Double) : 3 beef bouillon cubes 4 c. water 1/2 onion, chopped fine 1 bay leaf 1 tsp. lemon juice 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper Thicken with 1/2 c. flour minus 2 tbsp. moistened with water Bring gravy mixture to a small boil and add meatballs. Simmer meatballs for about 30-40 minutes. |
