FRENCH PEACH PIE 
6 or 8 fresh peaches
1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
1/2 c. or less butter
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg

Mix flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cut in butter until crumbly.

Peel peaches and arrange in quarters or eighths on shell. Cover with crumbly mixture. Bake in hot (450 degrees) oven 10 minutes, then 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Juice may spill out, so don't pile peaches too high above crust.
