SNICKERDOODLE COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs. Sift together dry ingredients and add to above mixture. Chill dough; roll in balls the size of walnuts. Roll in mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Place on ungreased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Bake until brown, but still soft, at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Remove immediately from cookie sheet.
