2 c. sugar
2/3 c. butter
1 c. milk
3 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
5 egg whites

Cream sugar and butter; add dry ingredients and beaten egg whites last. Bake as for any other cake.

LEMON FILLING:

1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. flour
5 egg yolks, well beaten
1 c. milk
1 lemon, grated

Cook all ingredients in double boiler until thick.
