LEMON PIE 
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
4 to 5 tbsp. water

Mix together and put in 2 pie pans.

FILLING:

1 1/2 c. sugar
6 tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. butter (melted)
3 egg yolks
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 c. real lemon juice

Cook all ingredients until thick except lemon juice and butter. Add lemon juice and butter after mixture is thick. Cool and pour into baked pie shells.

MERINGUE:

3 egg whites
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
6 tbsp. sugar

Beat to thick peaks and brown in broiler. Watch close, about 2 minutes.
