GRANDMA'S CREAMY ICING 
5 tbsp. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar, divided
1 c. milk
1 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla

In a small saucepan, combine flour, 1/2 cup sugar and milk; blend until smooth. Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Let stand until cool. In a small mixing bowl, cream remaining sugar, butter and vanilla until light and fluffy, about 15 minutes. Gradually beat in cooled milk mixture. Beat until smooth and fluffy.
