SWISS STEAK WITH SOUR CREAM 
2 or 3 lbs. round steak cut in inch strips
2 med. onions, sliced
3/4 c. sour cream (dairy)
3/4 c. water
1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
Paprika

Coat the steak pieces with flour on both sides. Season with salt and pepper. Brown well on both sides in hot grease. Add the sliced onion. Whip together sour cream and water and pour over onions and meat. Sprinkle on cheese and liberally add paprika. Cover the pan and cook over low heat for 2 hours. More water may be needed as this cooks. Makes a good gravy to serve with potatoes or rice.
