SHOO FLY PIE 
2 c. molasses
2 c. hot water
1 c. light brown sugar
1 tsp. salt

Mix ingredients until dissolved.

CRUMBS:

5 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. light brown sugar
1 scant c. butter
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar

Mix to crumb consistency. Use 4 (9 inch) pie shells and divide syrup, using barely over a cup for each pie. Divide the crumb mixture on top of syrup in each pie. Bake 10 minutes at 450 degrees, plus 30 minutes at 375 degrees then 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Two teaspoons of nutmeg and 3 teaspoons cinnamon may be added to crumb mixture.
