HARD CANDY | |
3 3/4 c. sugar 1 1/4 c. Karo syrup 1 c. water 1 tsp. flavor oil Food coloring Powdered sugar Heat sugar, syrup and water to "hard crack" on candy thermometer. Remove from heat and add flavor oil and desired food coloring. Immediately pour onto cookie sheet covered with powdered sugar. Sift powdered sugar over top. Cut with kitchen scissors into small pieces while very warm (can be broken into pieces when cooled, but be careful of sharp edges). Makes great Christmas candy and gifts! |
