GRANDMA'S CASSEROLE 
1 c. chopped onion
1 green pepper, cut in strips
2 tbsp. butter
1 1/2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 tsp. monosodium glutamate (MSG), optional
1 tsp. seasoned salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. sugar
1 qt. whole canned tomatoes
1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
2 c. water
1 (8 oz.) pkg. uncooked wide noodles
1 (8 oz.) pkg. Mozzarella cheese, sliced

In a large frying pan, saute onion and green pepper in butter for 3 minutes. Add ground beef; brown it well, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Add MSG, salt, pepper and sugar. Stir in tomatoes, tomato sauce and water. Heat mixture to boiling, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.

In a 9x13 inch pan, alternate layers of meat mixture and uncooked noodles. Top casserole with Mozzarella. Cover pan with aluminum foil and bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes. Cut into squares to serve.
