BRAZIL NUT FRUITCAKE 
2 lb. Brazil nuts, in shell or 3 c. shelled
1 lb. (2 c. or 2 - 6 1/2 oz. pkg.) dates
8 oz. (1 c.) maraschino or candied cherries
3/4 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix fruit and nuts in large bowl. Put dry ingredients over this and mix. Beat eggs; add vanilla and pour over fruit mixture. Put in greased loaf pan (or 6 small ones). Bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours, less for small pans. Cool and chill before slicing.
