SALTY TRIFLES 
2 c. self-rising flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. red pepper flakes
1 tsp. cumin seeds
1 tbsp. butter
1 1/4 c. cold water
Oil to deep fry

Mix flour, salt, peppers and cumin seeds together. Add butter, mix until it is crumbly, and gradually add water to make hard, smooth dough.

Divide into four equal parts and roll 1/8-inch thick. Cut into thin strips for frying. Heat oil to 400 degrees. Fry strips for one minute and drain well. Serve hot or cold with coffee or tea.
