SCOTCH CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 c. Crisco
4 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. cold water
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine flour and sugar in large bowl. In saucepan, combine butter, Crisco, cocoa, and water. Bring to a rapid boil, pour into flour mixture, mix well. Add other ingredients and mix well. Bake in long pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Better will be thin. See "Icing For Scotch Cake".
