SCOTCH CAKE 
2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 stick butter
1/2 c. vegetable shortening
1 c. water
4 tbsp. cocoa
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar and flour. Bring butter, shortening, water and cocoa to a boil, then add flour and sugar. Add remaining ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.

ICING:

1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. milk
1 lb. powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecans

Bring butter, cocoa and milk to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from the and add powdered sugar, vanilla and pecans. Pour over warm cake.
