SWEDISH MEATBALLS 
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 lb. lean beef, finely ground
1/2 lb. bean pork
1/2 c. mashed potatoes
1 c. fine bread crumbs
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. oil

Mix first five ingredients. Combine meats, egg mixture, mashed potatoes, and 1/2 cup crumbs. Form ball; roll in crumbs or flour. Brown in skillet, then cover pan with a lid or a steam vented lid. Cook 15 minutes or cook in oven at 350 degrees. Simmer in mushroom sauce 1/2 hour.
