SOUTHERN BEANS & TOMATOES 
2 slices of bacon
1 med. onion
1 (14 to 16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
1 (16 oz.) can cut green beans
1/4 tsp. pepper

Fry bacon until crisp. Crumble it and set it aside. Reserve bacon drippings. Slice the onion into rings, then break the rings apart. Saute the onion rings in the bacon drippings until crisp tender. Remove onion rings and set aside with bacon. In a 3 quart saucepan, combine the tomatoes, beans, bacon, onion and pepper. Bring to a boil, then turn down to simmer 10 to 15 minutes.
