1 c. hot milk 1 c. boiling water 1/2 c. sugar 1 tbsp. salt 2 tbsp. shortening 2 pkgs. dry yeast 1/4 c. warm water 2 eggs, beaten 7-8 c. all-purpose flour Combine milk, boiling water, sugar, salt and shortening; stir until shortening is melted; cool to lukewarm. Dissolve yeast in warm water; add to milk mixture with eggs, mixing well. Add 4 cups flour and beat well; stir in enough remaining flour to make a soft dough. Cover and let rise in warm place until double in bulk, about 1 1/2 hours. |
