GRANDMA'S HOT ROLLS
1/4 c. lukewarm water
1 tsp. sugar
1 household yeast
1/3 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. scalded milk
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
3 1/2 c. flour

Mix together water, sugar, and yeast; set aside. Pour hot milk over shortening, 1/4 cup sugar, and salt; let cool to lukewarm. Add yeast mixture into cooled milk mixture, then add in about 1/3 of flour each time. Mold enough to make smooth dough. Let rise. Form into rolls and bake in greased pan at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Approximately 2 hours from mixing to oven.
