RAISIN CREAM BARS 
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. water
1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 3/4 c. oatmeal
1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla

FILLING:

4 egg yolks
2 c. sweet cream
Pinch salt
1 3/4 c. sugar
3 heaping tbsp. cornstarch

Boil raisins in water until water is absorbed. Cream shortening and sugar. Add oatmeal, flour, soda and vanilla, and mix well. Put half of this mixture in 9 x 13 pan. Cook the filling ingredients until thick. Spread over crumbs and then top with remaining crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
