SPICED BEEF 
2 lbs. chuck stew meat
2 tbsp. flour
Salt & pepper
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. wine vinegar
3 tbsp. oil
1 lg. sliced onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 bay leaf
1 tbsp. tomato paste (or ketchup)
2 c. wateer
2 bouillon cubes dissolved in 1 c. water
2 tbsp. apricot jam
1/2 tsp. cocoa

Flour coat stew meat and brown in hot oil. Sprinkle salt and pepper to tsate. Mix all ingredients. Bake 350 degrees for 2 hours.

Stir in apricot jam and cocoa just before serving. Serve over rice.

For variety add quarter carrots 1/2 hour before the 2 hours are up.
