APPLE DUMPLING 
CRUST:

1 c. flour
1/2 c. shortening
1/4 c. water
Pinch salt

Mix and roll in 6" circles. For each circle use 1 apple (peeled and cored). Put apple in center of circle and add about 1/4 cup sugar, dash of cinnamon and pat of butter. Fold dough around apple, arrange in baking dish. Pour the following over apples and dough. 1 cup boiling water, 1/2 cup sugar, dash of cinnamon. Bake at 425 degrees for 40 minutes. Makes 4 dumplings.
