PASTA FAGIOLI 
2-3 tbsp. bacon grease
1 chopped onion (optional)
2-3 cloves garlic
Fresh or dried basil
1 lg. can tomato sauce
1/2 can water
Salt & pepper to taste
1 can white cannelloni beans or great white northern beans (use juice too)
1/2 lb. boiled pasta (ditalini's or spaghetti broken in half work great) Cook al dente & keep pasta covered with water

Saute onion in bacon grease until transparent. Add garlic and cook, not burning. Add tomato sauce, water, salt, basil and pepper and cook for 45 minutes. Add beans and juice. Stir together tomato sauce with pasta, water and all. Serve immediately with garlic bread and plenty of grated Parmesan cheese.
