4 c. apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. chopped walnuts
1 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 egg, well beaten
3 tsp. water
1/3 c. evaporated milk
1/2 c. melted butter, cooled
9-inch round baking dish

Preheat oven to 325°F.

Place apples in a well-buttered 9-inch round baker. Sprinkle 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon over apples. Next, sprinkle walnuts over apples.

In mixing bowl, sift together the flour, 3/4 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Set it aside. In another bowl, combine egg, water, evaporated milk and melted butter. Add egg mixture all at once to flour mixture. Mix until smooth. Pour this batter over apples.

Bake for 1 hour or until golden in 325°F oven.
