ALL IN ONE PORK CHOP AND RICE
DINNER
 
4 (1/2 inch) pork chops
4 thick slices onion
6 tbsp. rice
1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
Oregano to taste, fresh if possible
Fresh basil to taste if possible
Salt to taste
1 tbsp. sugar

Saute pork chops in 1 tablespoon of oil or shortening. Brown on both sides. Place 1 slice of onion on each pork chop and 1/2 tablespoon on top of the rice. Crush the tomatoes and spread them over the pork chops, etc. Cook over medium heat. Rice, chops, etc. will be done at the same time. (Add water if it should dry a bit.) This recipe also works well with chicken breast.
