DEEP FRIED OKRA 
1 lb. okra
1 c. flour
1 c. meal
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg
1 c. buttermilk

Wash and cut in 1/2" slices. Combine flour, meal, 1/2 salt and pepper. Combine egg, buttermilk and remaining salt. Add okra to egg mixture with slotted spoon, stirring gently to coat. Pour out to 2" depth. Heat to 375 degrees. Fry to golden brown.
