SPONGE CAKE 
1 1/4 c. sifted cake flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
6 eggs
3/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. orange juice
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift flour and baking powder. Beat egg whites until foamy. Sprinkle in cream of tartar and beat until whites stand in peaks. Add 1/2 cup sugar to whites. Beat egg yolks 2 minutes. Add orange juice, remaining sugar and vanilla. Fold flour into egg yolks and fold this into meringue. Bake at 325 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Do not grease tube pan.
