ELSA MAE'S TREASURE CHEST BARS 
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 c. shortening
2 unbeaten eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. milk
1 c. well drained cherry halves
1 c. minced nuts (lg. pieces)
1 lg. Nestles milk chocolate candy bar in pieces (I use 1 pkg. semi- sweet chocolate, cut into lg. pieces)

Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside. Cream together sugars and shortening; blend in eggs and vanilla. Alternately add dry ingredients and milk. Stir in rest of ingredients. Turn into jelly roll pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 25 minutes. Frost with Brown Butter Frosting.

BROWN BUTTER FROSTING:

1/4 c. butter
2 c. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. milk

Brown butter over medium heat until deep brown. Remove and blend in rest of ingredients. Blend until smooth.
