1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 unbeaten egg
1 3/4 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. peanut butter
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Sift flour with soda and salt. Cream shortening, peanut butter, and sugars; blend in egg and beat well. Stir in dry ingredients.
