BLACK FOREST COOKIES 
1 c. butter, softened
1 pkg. instant chocolate pudding
1 egg
2 c. flour
1/4 c. sugar
48 maraschino cherries, halved
1/2 c. semi sweet chocolate chips
3 tbsp. butter

Cream 1 cup butter, and pudding powder together. Beat in eggs. Mix in flour. Shape into small balls. Roll balls in sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet. Make a dent in each with your thumb. Bake at 325 degrees for 5 minutes. Remove and press dent again. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes. Fill dents with cherry half. Melt chocolate chips and butter in saucepan over low heat. Glaze tops of cooled cookies.
