SCANDINAVIAN COFFEE ROLLS | |
4 c. flour 1 tsp. salt 1/4 c. sugar 1 c. soft butter 1 pkg. yeast 1/4 c. very warm water 3 egg yolks 1 c. lukewarm milk, scalded and cooled Add flour, salt, and sugar in large bowl. Cut in butter. Dissolve yeast in water. Add to flour mixture with egg yolks and milk. Beat well. Chill in refrigerator over night. Grease well muffin cups or pan. Roll dough into rectangle. Brush with melted butter. Sprinkle with mixture of 1/4 cup sugar and 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon. Roll as for jelly roll. Cut in 1-inch slices. Place in pan. Cover; let rise about one hour. Bake 20-25 minutes at 375 degrees. Take from oven and add frosting. CREAMY GLAZE: Mix 1 1/2 cups sifted powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons hot water, 2 tablespoons soft butter, and 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla to make glaze. |
