PATIO LOAF 
1 loaf French bread
3/4 lb. ground beef
2 tbsp. dehydrated onion soup mix
6 oz. can tomato paste
1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese
Dash of garlic salt
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. chili powder

Cut loaf in half lengthwise. Combine meat, onion soup mix, tomato paste, and spices. Spread evenly on each half loaf. Broil 5 inches from heat for about 12 minutes or until meat is cooked. (Have Mom or Dad take a look!) Add cheese and broil 1-2 minutes or until cheese is melted. Slice and serve. Serve with tossed green salad.

O.K. for 4th or 5th graders with Mom or Dad present.
